Classification of classical ballet skirts
In Classical ballet, ballet skirts can be divided into two categories:
1. TUTU skirt
TUTU is the most symbolic dance skirt in Classical ballet, which is derived from the ballet skirt of Louis XIV.
The characteristic is that the skirt is extremely short, with a length not exceeding the knee, and is supported by the waist. It is a short style with multiple layers of silk fabric, usually using six or more layers of yarn, appearing layered.
TUTU is made of special hard yarn, resembling a pancake shape. Aesthetically, it is very regular and symmetrical.
2. Long skirt
A long skirt is an iconic dance dress for romantic ballet.
The dance skirt is composed of multiple layers of yarn, and its skirt is almost close to the ankle, forming a bell shape.
Generally, it is mainly in light colors, and when dancing, the skirt sways with it, appearing agile and elegant, giving people a sense of floating and flying visual beauty.
