The classic ballet plays include but are not limited to the following:
Swan Lake: This is a true ballet masterpiece composed by Tchaikovsky and is considered one of the greatest ballets of all time. It tells the story of a demon who made my daughter Black Swan disguise herself as Ojeta to deceive the prince. The prince almost fell for the trick, but in the end, he discovered it in time, fought the demon, and killed it. The white swan returns to its princess form and combines with the prince to achieve a happy ending.
Romeo and Juliet: This ballet is based on Shakespeare's play of the same name and composed by Prokofiev. It is considered a condensed version of music and stage design, and is deeply loved by the audience.
Giselle: This is a representative work of romantic ballet composed by Adolf Adam. The story tells of Giselle falling in love with a nobleman disguised as a farmer, and dying of heartbreak when she discovers the truth. The ghost women's group dance in Act 2 has become a model work.
The Nutcracker: This ballet was composed by Tchaikovsky and adapted from Ernst Hoffman's fairy tale. It has magnificent and spectacular scenes, as well as humorous and interesting performances, especially Tchaikovsky's music injecting a strong infectious force into the dance drama, making it a must see traditional dance drama during the Christmas season.
La Bayadere: This four act ballet was composed by Minkus and premiered in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1877. It tells the love story of a temple dancer and a warrior, with a profound plot and highly challenging dance movements.
The Rite of Spring ": This ballet composed by Stravinsky depicts the primitive tribes of Russia celebrating the spring festival. It is known for its distinct Russian style and strong primitive expressionist colors.
A Midsummer Night's Dream: This ballet is based on Shakespeare's play of the same name and composed by Mendelssohn. It is widely praised for its humorous plot and beautiful dance.
The Sleeping Beauty ": This ballet composed by Tchaikovsky tells a romantic fairy tale love story where light overcomes darkness, kindness overcomes evil, and love overcomes death. It is known as the "encyclopedia of classical ballet in the 19th century".
Don Quixote: This ballet is adapted from Cervantes' novel of the same name and composed by Mincus. It is loved by the audience for its festive plot and challenging dance techniques.
Cinderella: This ballet composed by Prokofiev is adapted from a fairy tale. It is known for its wonderful soundtrack and humorous melodies, especially the beginning music, which is acclaimed as one of the most beautiful musical works.
